Work ITAS

The Working ITAS is a residence permit for foreign professionals employed in Indonesia. It is granted to those who have secured a job with an Indonesian company and hold a valid work permit (RPTKA).

This visa is ideal for skilled workers, corporate employees, and expatriates looking to work legally in Indonesia. The validity of the visa depends on the employment contract and can typically be extended.

Documents Requirement

Passport that is valid for at least 18 (eighteen) months.
A recent colour photograph.
A personal bank statement showing a minimum equivalent amount of USD $2000. The statement must cover the last 3 months and include your name, the date, and the account balance.
Indonesian company formation documents.
ID card of accompanying local workers (Tenaga Kerja Indonesia/TKI).
Salary amount.
Work location and confirmation of office presence if the location is outside the company’s registered address.
Employment contract.

FAQs

Can my family come with me on an ITAS?

Yes, dependants (spouse and children) can apply for a Dependent ITAS, linked to the main ITAS holder. They’re not allowed to work but can stay legally for the same duration.

Do I need a local sponsor for an ITAS?

Yes, all ITAS types require a sponsor. For a Working ITAS, your employer acts as the sponsor. For an Investor ITAS, your own company (PT PMA) will sponsor you.

If I’m on a Spouse Visa (Dependent ITAS), can I work for a company in Indonesia?

No, a Spouse (Dependent) ITAS does not allow you to work. To be legally employed, you must convert to a Working ITAS sponsored by the company that hires you. We can assist with the conversion process without needing to leave Indonesia.

Can I apply for an ITAS while I’m outside of Indonesia?

Yes, you can apply for an ITAS (such as a Working or Investor ITAS) from abroad. Once approved, you’ll receive an e-Visa, which you can use to enter Indonesia and complete the ITAS process without needing a prior visa like a Tourist Visa.
