Quarantine Protocols due to New Spread of SARS-CoV-2 B1.1.529 in Indonesia

Due to the recent development of the new spread of SARS-CoV-2 B1.1.529 in other countries around the World, there is a need for adjustment for International travelers. There is needed an amendment to the circular letter no 23-year 2021 regarding the health protocol for international travelers during the pandemic corona virus disease 2019 The reason for this addendum to adjust the length and time for quarantine and second PCR Test for international travelers during the covid 19 pandemic.

The purpose for this addendum to the circular letter is to carry monitory, control, and evaluation in order to prevent an increase in the transmission of COVID-19 including new variants that have mutated such as SARS CoV-2 varian B1.1.529 which was found in several countries in the world as wells as the upcoming development of SARS CoV-2 virus variant. Protocol, Amend several provisions which read as follows:

All international travelers both Indonesian and Foreign citizens must comply with the following protocols:

1. Upon arrival international travelers are required to test PCR and are required to undergo quarantine for 10 X 24 hours. The quarantine hotel lists can be found here.

2. Regarding the head for the foreign representative and their families, they are allowed to self-quarantine in their respective residence for 10 x 24 hours.

3. For Indonesian citizens and foreigners, a second RT-PCR test will be carried out with the following conditions:

  • On the 9th day of quarantine for international travelers who quarantine with a duration of 10 x 24 hours; or
  • On the 13th day of quarantine for international travelers who quarantine with a duration of 14 x 24 hours. The travelers who must undergo 14 days of quarantine are from: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Eswatini & Nigeria. The Indonesian government also temporarily suspends the granting of visit visas and limited stay visas for these countries.
 

Addendum to this circular letter is effective from 3rd of Dec 2021 until further notice.
