In response to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) the Indonesian Government issues travel regulation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia in which stated orderly in following documents:
As of now, Indonesia opens its border for international and domestic travellers with such strict regulations to follow. All visitors need to follow the guidance and health protocol sets for both international and domestic flight. The regulations are as follow:
International Flight
Outbound Indonesia
Travel requirements may differ from one country to another. Thus, travellers are obliged to refer to each destination country’s regulation and find updates from IATA Travel Center
Inbound Indonesia
There is no restriction for Indonesian Citizens to enter Indonesia as long as it follows the required documents.
Indonesian Government does not allow foreigners (WNA) to enter or transit in Indonesia. However, there are exception for foreigners who hold following documents:
Official Visa
Diplomatic Visa
Visitor Visa
Temporary Stay Visa
Official Stay Permit
Diplomatic Stay Permit
Temporary Stay Permit (KITAS)
Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP)
Domestic Flight
Every person is allowed to travel as long as they follow the travel regulations. Some special condition applies for departures from regions in which do not provide COVID-19 test facility. If so, travellers may substitute it with a Health Certificate that shows symptoms-free of COVID-19 issued by a hospital / community health center doctor.
Health Protocol for Travelling to Indonesia
International Inbound
Presenting health certificate of negative RT-PCR test results, issued within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours from departure country.
Undertake a mandatory 5-day quarantine at designated facilities conducted by the Indonesian government, followed by a suggested 14 days period of home quarantine. The quarantine facilities upon arrivals are listed here.
Taking two RT-PCR tests will be administered: one upon arrival and one upon discharge after mandatory quarantine. If the test shows positive result, travellers will be transferred to a different facility or a hospital for treatment.
Paying all costs at the traveller own expenses.
Exemption applies for the mandatory 5-day quarantine for foreigners (WNA) who holds Diplomatic Stay Permit, Official Stay Permit for state visits and Indonesian who enters under the Travel Corridor Agreement (TCA).
Domestic Travel
Bali Island
– Flights
Health certificate of negative RT-PCR or rapid antigen test results issued within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before departure or;
A negative test result of GeNose C19 within 1 x 24 hours before departure only if its service test is available at the Departure Airport.
– Land and Sea Transport
Health certificate of negative RT-PCR or rapid antigen test results issued within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours before departure.
Other Destination
– Flights
Health certificate of negative RT-PCR test results issued within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours before departure or;
Negative rapid antigen test result issued within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before departure or;
Negative test result of GeNose C19 issued within 1 x 24 hours before departure only if its service test is available at the Departure Airport
– Land Transport (Personal Vehicle and Train)
Health certificate of negative RT-PCR or rapid antigen test or GeNose C19 test results issued within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours before departure
– Sea Transport
Health certificate of negative RT-PCR or rapid antigen test results issued within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours before departure.
